Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas! We hope you have a wonderful holiday season focused on Christ and all He has done us.

I love this passage and was reminded of it yesterday when my dad read it in his sermon. This is the reason for the season!

"Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:18-21

What an awesome sacrifice! Christ came to this earth and humbled Himself to be born - that fact alone is amazing to me. He could have just shown up as a man. I am very thankful for everything that Christ has done for me and for my family!

Thanksgiving Part II

The Thanksgiving Feast -

These are some pictures for my Suie - my sister, who decided not to join us for Thanksgiving.

You sure missed out Suie but as you can see you were not left out, we placed you right in the middle of all the action.

Mom even made sure you had some mashed potatoes. And as you can see there were about 800 deviled eggs that you could of helped us eat.

However, it was not the same as actually having you there because it was so quiet - no complaining or name calling. It was kind of nice. No - we did miss having you with us. I guess there's always Christmas, with our dysfunctional family, to look forward to ;-)

Thanksgiving Part I

I love Thanksgiving! It was so fun to have time just to hang out with my family!
Here is Bitt chowing down on some of Mama's good cooking!
David was able to come up and he basically serenaded us all weekend long. I am still waiting for him to write a song about his wonderful older sister.
A great time was had by all!

Look Only to Christ

Okay, I guess I will actually write something.

I have the awesome and challenging privilege of being on staff for our youth ministry (One28) at church. This year our theme is - Look Only to Christ. What an awesome theme! I have already been thinking about it a ton because it is very easy to look to so many other things to find meaning and fulfillment. I don't know why I look to the things of the world because the happiness found there NEVER lasts. Which ties into Sunday mornings in One28, we have been going through Ecclesiastes. I encourage everyone to read that book of the Bible often. How easy it is to forget that anything apart from God is vanity! Grasping after Wind - have you ever tried that? It doesn't work - and yet we do it over and over! Looking only to Christ causes the things of the world to fade away. I am definitely ready for that!

Little Pews

Here it is my next post! I know all five of you have been anxiously waiting! I thought I would share an awesome picture of my lovely fam in front of our church. We all cram into the little pews and listen to Dad practice his sermons.

To Blog or Not to Blog

I had to throw that lame title in to begin my blogging career. If you would even call it a career, no one would ever pay me for what will be written here!

So instead of trying to think of something eloquent to say I will quote a few verses from one of my favorite passages. I read this passage whenever I think that I have it all together, which means that I read this passage a lot.

The Lord Answers Job:

"Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements--surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” (Job 38:4-7)
